The first session of the Delhi Test on day 1 has ended. Australia have added 94 runs in the session for the loss of two wickets. Ishant Sharma has taken both the wickets that have fallen today. The first of them came in his first and innings’ second over. Warner was caught by Kohli at second slip. After the early loss, Australia’s innings progressed at a brisk pace courtesy a reinvigorated Phil Hughes who scored 45 before being bowled by Sharma.

Australia's session for my money. This pitch is going to play serious tricks, and for fast bowlers too. Australia will bowl last on it. This is a pitch where you need to capitalise on every bad delivery, and Australia have done that well in this session. India have been guilty of providing them with those loose balls too. It's early to be saying this, but I think Australia have a chance of winning this Test. Anything over 300 is a competitive first-innings total. Not sure India needed such a cracked surface to beat a demoralised Australian side. It only gives Australia a bit of an outside chance
