Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging a Red Arrows pilot was killed on Saturday afternoon when his Hawk T1 aircraft plunged to the ground near Bournemouth Airport in Dorset.
Onlookers reported seeing the plane flying low before smashing into a field and coming to a standstill with its nose in the River Stour near the village of Throop.
Thursday 18th August all day time flying displays were canceled due to severe flooding and in order to maintain public safety.
The display programme for Friday, Saturday and Sunday is currently not affected with sunny clear skies predicted.
This year’s Bournemouth Air Festival line-up is packed with aviation excitement, with displays from the famous Red Arrows, Avro Vulcan, Sea Vixen and BBMF. They also have three evenings of Night Air entertainment including two dusk displays.
The Air Festival site opens from 10am each day and festival goers can experience a variety of entertainment and trading stalls as well as more than 15 hours of flying displays across the four days!
From the town centre to the seafront, Bournemouth Dorset, England the UK’s leading resort will keep you entertained from 18th – 21st August.
