'Free Tibet' flags made in China

Police in southern China have discovered a factory manufacturing Free Tibet flags, media reports say.

The factory in Guangdong had been completing overseas orders for the flag of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

Workers said they thought they were just making colourful flags and did not realise their meaning.

But then some of them saw TV images of protesters holding the emblem and they alerted the authorities, according to Hong Kong's Ming Pao newspaper.

Why am I not surprized.  Most American Flags come from China as well.  I drives me nuts!

Ah US style capitalism at work!

Actually moonwolf, US style capitalism would have the flags made in a factory located in a high ranking senator's district.  It would be an important "major employer" and, therefore, would be highly subsidized.  The flag maker would make large political donations to the senator's campaign fund along with the union that represents the workers in the factory.  Any threat to compete from foreign companies would bring howls from Lou Dobbs on CNN and the senate would pass the Homeland and Flag Security Act to place punitive tariffs on all imported flags.  A campaign, funded by Americans For US Made Flags, would inform the US population about the need to support the strategic flag industry.

THAT is US style capitalism!
