Gale Storm (1922 - 2009)

Gale Storm, sitcom actress of the 1950's, has died at 87. Born Josephine Cottle in McDade, Texas, Storm was an early version of a reality star, winning the Gateway to Hollywood radio contest in 1939, winning the screen name "Gale Storm". She later married Lee Bonnell, who won the contest on the guys' side, earning the screen name "Terry Belmont".

Gale Storm then signed a deal with RKO Pictures.

This deal led to a string of B-movies before she found her niche in television. Gale Storm starred in My Little Margie, which was meant as a summer replacement to I Love Lucy.

Storm, who also had a successful recording career during her TV heyday, died Saturday of natural causes at a convalescent hospital in the Northern California community of Danville, according to her son Peter Bonnell.

Gale Storm has three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and is survived by four children.

I know of a man from that area who allegedly opposed illegal commands at work and  was ruined!  See the Yahoo!Buzz blog below!  It is outrageous to see a man apparently "destroyed" for doing right!  He seems to have disobeyed commands to discriminate against blacks & men at work and refused to lie about work-hours to allow his famous npo employer to not pay required OT wages.

Thank you very much for embedding my video! A sad occassion though, I am surprised that Gale Storm was so popular (I live in DK), so I just knews as a singer who sang one of my favorite songs. Wish I had done a little more out of the video. And again thans for embedding!!
