Facebook getting security changes
Immunet, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based provider of what it calls social antivirus software, announced in November it raised $2 million to develop a tool for Internet users to collectively protect against security threats.

For a generation and large part of the world that has become semi-dependant on social networking sites, especially Facebook, a California software company is finding ways for us to at least be able to play and surf sfely within these sites.  So far, the company is stating the software will remain a freeware product for customers.

Immunet released a beta version of its antivirus product, called Immunet Protect, about three months ago, and currently has about 20,000 users signed up, Friedrichs said. The application includes an invitation system that allows users to invite members of their social networks to sign up for the service.

Really though, is it that necessary to post your personal information, daily activities and routines, family and friends all over the internet for anyone to see?  Regardless of new safety features and antivirus software, one should still be extremely careful with the personal information they promote and willingly share.
