Glee Stars Look to the Future Following News of Cast Changes
As "Glee" fans continue to swallow the news that Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, and Chris Colfer are done after season 3, the young stars are already looking to the future.
Lea, who plays Rachel Berry on the hit show, is set to star in Garry Marshall's upcoming romantic comedy, "New Year's Eve" and there's also talk of her getting a spin-off show.
Meanwhile, Monteith, a.k.a. Finn Hudson, is still fresh from the release of "Monte Carlo" and will appear in the upcoming movie "Sisters and Brothers", which is currently in post-production.
Last but not least, the Kurt Hummel actor is busy both writing and starring in an upcoming flick called "Struck By Lightning" and is also rumored to be getting his own spin-off as well.
Like everyone else reading the gossip blogs, Chris Colfer found out via Twitter that his character on the hit show "Glee" is leaving.
Upon reading the news, the 21-year-old told Access Hollywood, "Yeah I found out that they made that announcement. I didn't necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year, I knew something like that was coming up eventually. I mean, we can't be there forever...I don't necessarily want to leave so soon, but I mean, it's fine. It's what it is. And all things come to an end."
Don't fret for Chris, however, the talented star is ok with the decision. "As a performer, I feel so fulfilled," he said. "I have two Emmy nominations and just from hearing from people out in the world about how much the character has helped people. If it's time for a conclusion, I'm fulfilled with it, and I'm fine with it."
With the news being broken by the show's creator, Ryan Murphy told THR, "[They are] not going to be back at all for Season 4. You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year."
The trio of departures pile on top of the loss of Chord Overstreet, who is out for season three - though the possibility of guest appearances is still an option.
