Google Founders Get Their Own Movie
ZOMFG! Sergey Brin & Larry Page to Get Their Very Own Movie!
Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page are getting their own movie. Another geek epic that we saw unfolding in real-time, and is therefore pointless as a movie topic. Just because Mark Zuckerberg gets a movie, doesn't mean you get one, too.
The film, if you absolutely must know, is based on Googled: The End of the World As We Know It, by Ken Auletta.
What, are the Googlers going to rock Illuminati hoodies next? Please.
For those unschooled in Internet mythology, Brin and Page met in Stanford and bonded over their vision of a better search engine, building a company based on the edict, “Don’t be evil.” London says the film will explore that edict and how Google’s success presented “a million challenges to that mandate,” while also telling their story "sympathetically."
You hear that, Hollywood? Don't be evil. Oh. Too late. Weirdly, at no point during these pitch meetings did anyone say, "you guys are being total dumbasses", so I guess it's up to me... Fine Let me put down my coffee first.
Groundswell Productions, you guys are being total dumbasses.
