The Goree Girls: Jennifer Aniston Will Sing in New Movie
Jennifer Aniston will be singing in her new movie The Goree Girls for the first time. Aniston is both starring and producing The Goree Girls, to release in 2010: a story of a music group comprised of female prison inmates in the 1940s. She talked about her musical experience when attending New York's High School of the Performing Arts, and the fact that her dad John Aniston, who played Victor Kiriakis in Days of Our Lives, was not fond of her decision in going to acting.
"My dad did not want me to do this at all," Aniston says. "It wasn't that he didn't think I could, but he just thought that it was such an iffy thing ... I think there was a part of that [which] kind of fueled my drive in a way."
The Goree Girls is based on story titled O Sister, Where Art Thou?, which appeared in Texas Monthly in 2003.
