Graffiti artist Banksy pulls off grandest stunt to date - despite being watched by CCTV
England's most famous graffiti artist has pulled off yet another fantastic stunt - right under the noses of the CCTV cameras. This latest work is believed to be his biggest yet and it's right in the middle of central London.
The secretive graffiti artist managed to erect three storeys of scaffolding behind a security fence despite being watched by a CCTV camera.
Then, during darkness and hidden behind a sheet of polythene, he painted this comment on 'Big Brother' society.

Yesterday the scaffolding gang returned to remove all evidence - again without the camera operator stopping them.
The work, above a Post Office yard in Newman Street near Oxford Circus, shows a small boy, watched by a security guard, painting the words: 'One nation under CCTV.'
Andrew Newman, 35, a businessman from Dulwich, who works locally, said: 'It was only on Sunday morning that the Post Offices guys realised what had happened.'

And just when you wonder what he'll get away with next...he does this! Amazing and on point as always. I heart Banksy. Good stuff.

Thanks, I heart Banksy too. I have seen many of his works around London, as he used to do a lot of them just down the street from my university. They have always fascinated me.

not convinced it wasn't a legitimate piece of graffiti. considering the CCTV (duh!) and it's a 24 hour postal sorting office, so plenty of security around. and it's inside a pretty high fence. i can't believe they wouldn't have tried to stop him if he hadn't been meant to do it.

amyjudd, Good stuff. This type of whimsey mixed with art is the type of counter-culture most people could be a party to.
