The Green Hornet - Official trailer 2011

Michel Gondry's film version of The Green Hornet stars Seth Rogen as Britt Reid (The Green Hornet) and Jay Chou as Kato, a role originated by Bruce Lee. The Green Hornet trailer, which just debuted, suggests a standard-issue big-budget action flick with a dash of comedy, mainly supplied by Seth Rogen, who is as unlikely a choice for an action hero as could be imagined.

The villain, Benjamin Chudnofsky, is played by Christoph Waltz, whose screen-badness is already well established, though he's fully comedy-ready. Jay Chou, a newcomer to English-language cinema, is pest known for his role of Prince Jai in Curse of the Golden Flower.

Michel Gondry is best known for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, in which Jim Carrey transcended his facial-comedy schtick, so maybe Gondry can work similar magic with Rogen, who is currently pigeonholed as a slacker, though we saw his potential in Funny People, the almost-a-comedy with Adam Sandler.
