Green Lantern is Gay: Alan Scott Comes Out
DC's Gay Superhero is Green Lantern
DC Comics has finally revealed the gay superhero hinted at after the DC Universe reboot. The gay superhero is... Green Lantern. There isn't a big coming-out scene: Alan Scott is already openly gay when he's introduced.
Since DC revealed that one of its major characters would be gay, rumors swirled that it would be Green Lantern. You can see the revelation in the link below.
We're talking about Alan Scott, as opposed to Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds played the Hal-Jordan Green Lantern in that lame movie). Green Lantern is more of an occupation than a name, like how you call your cable guy "Cable Guy", and not "Dave".
Also, the new Alan Scott is a media mogul for the 21st Century. In the original DC Universe, Alan Scott owned some radio stations. Now he's an internet billionaire.
Alan Scott is the original Green Lantern: he first debuted in 1940, and was actually based on a New York City subway worker: how would signal trains with a lantern. Times have changed: they use flashlights now.
