Griffin O'Neal

Griffin O'Neal was banned by his father Ryan from Farrah Fawcett's funeral yesterday in Los Angeles. Redmond O'Neal was allowed to attend after getting leave from jail, but Griffin, Ryan's estranged son was turned away when he arrived.

When asked why, Ryan O'Neal suggested that his son was a 'bad guy'.

Despite his father's intentions, Griffin believes that Farrah would be upset to know he wasn't allowed to attend her funeral/

“She’s mad right now that I’m not in there," he said. "I just wanted to say goodbye to someone that I knew and loved for 33 years.”

Griffin O'Neal is the son of Ryan and actress Joanna Cook Moore and has long suffered with substance abuse. Ryan has always maintained that it was Griffin that instigated the incident that led to Ryan's arrest on suspicion of assault on February 3, 2007.

Ryan accused Griffin of "wildly swinging a fireplace poker" at him, an action that allegedly caused an injury to Griffin's 22 year old pregnant girlfriend, JoAnne Berry.[2] In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Ryan O'Neal charged that his son grazed him "four or five times" with the fireplace poker and that when he ducked to avoid the swinging weapon, Griffin "hit his own girlfriend in the head."
