The iconic 80s pop A-ha has decided to retire after 25 years of producing music and touring. The trio's greatest hits came in the 1980s with songs like Take On Me and The Sun Always Shines on TV.

A-ha  (which inlcudes singer Morten Harket,  guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, and keyboardist Magne Furuholme) first exploded onto London's New Romantic music scene in 1985 which inlcuded bands like OMD, Blancmange, Duran Duran, Joy Division, Simple Minds, and The Smiths.

"We've literally lived the ultimate boy's adventure tale," the group said in a statement.

Though the Norwegian band never had the same commercial success since the 80s, A-ha certainly had an impact on a host of other artists including U2, Coldplay, and Oasis, all of whom have cited A-ha as an influence.

Their most recent album was Foot on the Mountain which saw a return to A-ha's sync-pop roots and A-ha will officially hang up their instruments after their current world tour.
