IGN Posts April Fools Halo Movie Trailer

IGN.com, a popular gaming site, has made a tradition of creating elaborate April Fools jokes, and for 2010 they may have topped themselves.

Fans of the Halo series have been clamoring for a Halo movie for a while now, and a few years back it seemed like they just might get it when Peter Jackson signed on to the project. But after a series of misfires, the project flatlined and fanboy hopes were dashed. Enter IGN.

On IGN's homepage during April Fools Day, the top story is 'Halo Movie: The World Premiere Trailer' with a giant picture of Master Chief, the star of the Halo franchise. Clicking on the story brings you to the trailer, which starts off with an image the galaxy and then a giant ship.

Next, an image of Master Chief in his Mark IV MJOLNIR Armour. As the camera zooms in on Chief, he removes his helmet to reveal, an Indian actor who soon breaks into song!

April Fools Halo Movie Trailer Goes Bollywood

From that point on, the faux trailer combines images and characters from the Halo franchise and combines them with the traditions of Indian film. You'll see Master Chief, sing and dance amid explosions with  computer AI Cortana represented in human form, all while traditional Indian music is played with subtitles translating the dialogue.

The trailer ends with with the chorus chanting "Finish the fight". A very well done trailer that will please both Halo and April Fools fans alike. Check out the April Fools Halo trailer below.
