IT'S OVER!!!! (said in a Strongbad voice). Due to being very ill, I stayed at home on Tuesday and read this all day. Yes, a 750-page book in one day, like I used to when I was a whippersnapper.
Satisfying ending, a bit of a skimmable middle bit, surprise deaths all round, and a rousing finale that I'm sure had fans weeping in their butterbeer. Or something.
Rowling knows how to tell a good tale and set up a good mystery. I wouldn't say she's a great writer, in the sense that there was no passage that made me stop and want to reread it.
But done! The complete 7 book series in less than four months...
