Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Boston - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was released July 15, 2009 into theatres. It was a repeat of the fantastic cinematography, scene stealing settings and props which have captivated the eyes of his young audience. Directed by David Yates, this mega box office children's fantasy is entirely made up of wizards and magic and introduces a subtle desire for much more detail and explanation. This film sets the audience up for an anticipated ending through another future sequel. The plot starts off somewhat confusing and has limited storyline until the introduction of the Hogwart's potion class. It is at this time that the subject begins. The idea of exactly what this movie is about is extremely concealing. The name of the production mentions a key physical entity which stirs the imagination of most viewers who try to figure out what "Half-Blood Prince" means in this film. Towards the last third of the film the famed Professor Snapes announces to Harry Potter that he is the Half-Blood Prince but the viewers still have no idea what exactly this means. The audience sees a devastating scene in which Snapes and his Death Eater brocade of interesting characters murder the admired and highly powerful Hogwarts Wizard, Professor Dumbledore. The movie comes to a blazing halt after this scene and the audience is left hanging and wants to see more. Today, in a theatre of fifty townspeople there was quite a conflicting and mixed reaction of sighs when the movie ended. It stops all too soon before the plot develops. Some love interests do surface during this pre-ending story for the seven (7) famed Harry Potter novels that have been turned into fascinating movie special effects cast in the old and eerie streets of London and intrigueing Castles of the United Kingdom. Harry meets Ginny and Hermine shows more than just friendship yearning for Ron Weasley, the sweet, red-head who plays sidekick to Harry Potter. This show rates high on every child's "to see list" for the summer however, a hopeful audience is really waiting to see how the entire Harry Potter world comes to an end. The next film will be sure to tie up any loose ends and create a final legacy for one of the only other successive themed stories besides Star Wars. Harry Potter is certain to be a legend for several generations to come. Rosie Stein
