New figures are in for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and so far the film has grossed over $104 million in its first day.
The Warner Bros distributor says that the movie performed quite well in the UK, taking in more than $7.6 million. It broke the previous record made by Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

In somewhat related news, one of the Harry Potter stars, Jamie Waylett, who played the bully Vincent Crabbe in all six movies, was arrested for growing pot. Waylett has pled guilty to producing canabis and is facing a maximum 14-year sentence.
Jamie Waylett pleaded guilty to growing the drug during a hearing Thursday at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.

I am happy that kids read these books, but, after seeing the first film, I don't see quite what they are so excited about other than the feeling of magic being real
What I mean is that I looked for a deeper message, such as the one you get in the Ring Trilogy, but I couldn't find one.

As one of my favourite harry potter books, the half blood prince film was an abomination. Utterly awful. Boring. It was painful to watch. If I had not read the book before hand, I would have been completely confused. What a let down. Whats the crack, why put things into the film that never ocured in the book, then leave things out that did happen! it makes no sense. I appricate you cant fit everything in but the filmakers have completely taken away the magic of Hogwarts. Praise for the first two films and Christopher Columbus. They really were magic. J.K Rowling's writing is superb, this film does her no justice at all. For such a thrilling book, the film was really dull and lacking bloody everything. I'd rather watch paint dry. How the hell are they going to make the deathly Hallows, I dread to think, again another outstanding book. Some may disagree, fair enough, but you wont change my mind, effing disaster.
