Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer does not disappoint

The young boy gives a glimpse of the evil to come when he tells Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon): "I can make bad things happen to people who are mean to me. And I can speak to snakes. They find me. They whisper things."

Tom is played by newcomer Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, nephew of Ralph Fiennes, the actor who played Lord Voldemort in previous Potter films.

Director David Yates has said: "The fact that he's related to Ralph wasn't the primary reason for choosing him. Primarily I went for Hero because of this wonderful haunted quality."

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince reunites the three young stars - Daniel Radcliffe as Harry, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley. New cast members include Jim Broadbent, who will play Potions Professor Horace Slughorn.

It has been chosen for this year's Royal Film Performance on November 17.

Money raised from the screening will go to the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund.

Warner Bros UK president Josh Berger said: "We are honoured that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, one of the most anticipated films of the year, has been chosen as the 61st Royal Film Performance.

"Directed, filmed and produced in the UK with a hugely talented and largely British cast and crew, it is particularly fitting that this film will help raise funds to support those from the British film and television community most in need."

The trailer, which you can watch here, I personally think leaves something to be desired. At least to those who are familiar with the books. We do get a glimpse (more than a glimpse, actually) of young Tom Riddle, also known as Lord Voldemort. But there are several key storylines that are missing from the trailer. And, I realize that movie trailers aren’t long, and can’t give everything away. Obviously. The trailer does reveal that this movie is going to be, like the book, darker than the Harry Potter movies we are used to.

like, i'm excited about breaking dawn (mildly... i'm just curious about all the spoilers), but this movie seriously looks AMAZING

I HAVE MISSED HARRY POTTER SO VERY, VERY MUCH

and just like, scene after scene of tom riddle? WHO WOULD NOT WANT THAT?

AND RON MAKING OUT WITH LAVENDER AND HERMIONE BEING JEALOUS AND HARRY BEING ALL OBSESSED OVER DRACO?

AND HAVE I MENTIONED SNAPE?
