Have we forgotten to be patient?
Today, I had one of those moments, when while surfing the net I came across those stupid photos and videos that parasite the web and asked myself: Why people even consider consuming this kind of material?
Well, I won’t analyze this problem. But, I want to point out that there is a true lack of standards these days, which is a real issue. And it’s because people tend to don’t spend time creating their standards.
The real problem with the material mentioned above is that it promotes the idea of “You’re not the stupidest being in the world, so relax !”, which will eventually lower the standard of stupidity. And yes, stupidity has a standard. If we would request more from ourselves, then others will have to do so to keep up with the standard. But, when people that don’t request much from themselves and what they consume it will lead to a decrease in quality of standards.
And this is what we’re experiencing today. Just look at the music, publishing etc. industries we have today. How on Earth can an idea match all the humanity, without being superficial? How can we love, for example, the same in South America and in Russia? People have the same feelings, true; but, the representations of the feelings throughout the world aren’t the same.
I also believe that people should try to cover some of the phenomena in the world from a scientific point of view. But, if you look on YouTube, for example, you’ll find out that cats are more important than some of the interesting facts shown in ‘science for the masses’ type of shows, such as Vsauce’s.
And the only solution to the problems above is to convince ourselves to do something and not just sit and comply with the idea that everything can be worse. One must set his standards and request quality from the material one consumes.
In the end, I’ll ask you: Where are we heading at? How the future will be in your point of view?
