Helen Mirren is speaking out now about her tattoo - a tiny symbol on her left thumb - and she now says that it disgusts her and she wishes she had never gotten it done. See a photo of Helen Mirren's tattoo and another of her at a function showing her tattoo.

The acclaimed actress says it's not so much that her tattoo that she doesn't like, but its the fact that having a tattoo makes her more like everyone else. She decided to get a tattoo one day when she was very very drunk a long time ago.

"I decided to get a tattoo because it was the most shocking thing I could think of doing," explained Mirren, 64. "Now I'm utterly disgusted and shocked because it's become completely mainstream, which is unacceptable to me."

Dame Helen Mirren got the tattoo done by an Indian artist while she was touring with a play in Minnesota. No word on if she wants to get it removed.
