Hindu tradition encourages illiteracy of females in India
LA Times reported last week that the weather change and the droughts cause many wives to be sold to the rich moneylenders by their husbands who are impovourished farmers and failed to pay off their debts to the riches. Though the report stated that it is a rare occasion for a husband to use his wife as a collateral for his loans, researches show that the traditional influence of Hinduism in India plays as a big contributing factor to sexual exploitation and modern day slavery in the country.

well for your kind information it is not because of any religious tradition byt grave poverty intiatiated by multina tional companies in India that such conditin has arisen.Even even christian poor are resorting to similiar means.

It's the patriarchy system handed down by the Hindu tradition ( beginning 300 A.D.) causing the maltreatment of children and women. Also, such traditions, whether one coverts to Christians or any other religions, Hindu tradition is so ingrained into one's culture that seems to affect their thinking even after the conversion.
