A little off topic but I thought it was worth mentioning the Hip Hop Chess Federation.

This non-profit (I quote) fuses "music, chess and martial arts to promote unity, strategy and non-violence". 

Co-founder Adisa Banjoko states "These black and white squares do not care what color you are or if you are rich or poor".
