The Coming Coalition of Dupes and Fools
After Russia and China jointly vetoed London's Syria War project at the UN Security Council on Feb. 4, gaggles of London's puppets and useful fools in world governments are scrambling to try to constitute themselves an ersatz United Nations, in order to illegally launch the military intervention into Syria which London desires in order to trigger World War III, in conjunction with an Israeli attack on Iran.
The US State Department announced Feb. 9 that its top Mideast envoy, Jeffrey Feltman, has left on a tour to Morocco, France, and Bahrain to organize a so-called "friends of Syria" meeting "outside the UN system."
France, Turkey, and the Moroccan monarchy which was the nominal Arab sponsor of the resolution vetoed last Saturday, have all offered to sponsor the meeting.
Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu will meet on the project this Monday with Hillary Clinton. At CSIS in Washington today, Davutoglu called for a "new world order," and said that Turkey wants to be on the "right side" of history.
"To show that we support and are in solidarity with the Syrian people, Turkey wants to establish an international platform to discuss the uneasy situation in Syria," Davutoglu said.
In a Paris briefing today, Bernard Valero, the spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry, responded to Davutoglu that France welcomed Turkey's proposal for an international conference on Syria.
Hapless UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has been in contact with Arab League Secretary Nabil el-Araby about a new, revamped Arab League mission under a different mandate.
Giulio Terzi, Italy's Foreign Minister under the London puppet-government of Mario Monti, said from Washington, "We agree with the work of the Arab League and its intention to send a new, larger and more assertive observer mission to verify responsibilities and expose the [Syrian] regime.
This mission could be supported by a group of friends of the Syrian people... made up of the Arab League, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union."
Otherwise, Berlin is now supporting a new Syria Monitoring mission by the UN and The Arab League, as well as a special envoy, and Merkozy came out for the creation of a contact group.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov dismissed these subterfuges, saying, "Russia does not share the West's views about so-called humanitarian intervention."
