The new TV show 'Hitched or Ditched' premieres on the CW Network tonight, and critics are already saying its the worst example of reality television to date.

In every episode, there is a couple that is given an all-expenses paid wedding that has to be planned and executed in just seven days, and when the couple is standing at the altar they then have to decide if they want to get married or break up.

This show is no different that 'Rock of Love' or even 'The Bachelorette' as it uses dramatic music and cuts back and forth between the couple while they make a decision but it seems to take itself very seriously and doesn't try to poke fun at the seriousness of marriage, but it does.

The pilot follows Travis and Celisa, a couple in Charlotte, N.C., who bicker constantly and have broken up several times during the course of their four-year relationship but who still want to be together forever. Host Tanya McQueen springs the surprise on them, and from there they have to tell their folks, get dresses and tuxes, and engage in the kind of predictable brain-dead drama you've come to expect from the genre.

In a later episode, an interracial couple struggles like a modern day Romeo and Juliet to overcome their family pressures to not marry, but still prove that they love each other.

Hitched or Ditched does not seem interested in looking at why people are couples in the first place or if they even want to get married - it seems to be aimed much more at capitalizing on peoples' misery and drawing that out for a full hour.
