Seeing that I don't know these actresses personally, my opinions are based on interviews and other off-screen features.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth comes across as very friendly and warm. She's also one of the few A-List actresses who appears approachable. From what I've gathered in watching her interviews, she's a woman whose passionate about both career and family. While starring in movies Gwyneth still manages to be a doting mom to her two children, Apple and Moses.

As a person, Gwyneth seems loving and accepting. Along these same lines she does not come across as the least bit judgmental. Though she's probably crazy busy, she seems like she'd make a great friend when given the chance.

Co-workers of the actress confirm that she is indeed the supermom that she appears to be. After making her first guest appearance on "Glee", Jane Lynch told US Magazine of Paltrow, "There is nothing she can't do! She sings, she dances, she acts. She is funny and a great mom and a good person!"

Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon is an American sweetheart. It's hard to find something dislikeable about her. She comes across as sweet and down to earth, just like the popular characters she's portrayed on screen. Like Gwyneth, Reese also juggles family with a fast-paced career. She has two young children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, whom she divorced in late 2006.

Despite Phillippe's having had a girlfriend prior to their divorce, Witherspoon appeared in public as her usual, happy self. She never let her personal drama bring her down, and this is likely the result of her happy disposition. Reese seems very positive, and this is always a good quality for a friend to have. She's solid as both a person and a mother, so there's no doubt she'd be the same way in her relationships. Additionally Reese's sweet nature is what prevents her fame from going to her head. In addition to being genuine and considerate, the actress puts herself on the same level as those around her, and because of this she's perfect friend material.

Courteney Cox

Courteney Cox is famous not only as an actress but for being a loyal friend. She and Jennifer Aniston have been best friends for years, and she saw her  former "Friends" co-star through a painful divorce in 2005. Courteney is fiercly loyal, having dodged run-ins with the Jolie-Pitts despite Brad's friendly disposition towards her. She and Jen are often photographed together, and these frequent outings prove that spending time with her best friend is a priority in Cox's life.

Jenny McCarthy

Although she first became known for her looks and her body, Jenny McCarthy proved she was one of those buxom babes with a great personality. She comes off as one of those people whose just awesome, their looks simply a bonus. Viewers got an idea of how fun and spirited McCarthy could be when she hosted MTV's memorable "Singled Out" from 1995-1997. Though beautiful and bodacious, Jenny acted over the top and goofy on screen, doing things that weren't considered the least bit lady-like. Her rowdy persona made people, especially men, see her as way more than a piece of meat.

Later on in her career, a more tender side of Jenny McCarthy came out as she got vocal about her son's struggle with autism. It's clear that even though she's gorgeous, there's a lot more to Jenny McCarthy than just her looks. She seems like a very grounded individual with a big heart. With regards to her personality, the saying "what you see is what you get" seems to apply. I'm guessing Jenny would be an honest and caring friend.
