A friend of mine once said “If what they are doing isn’t wrong, then why do some of them hide and stay in that so-called Closet?

Somewhat disappointed by his self-righteous tone and yet intrigued by the prospect of addressing his query I told him, “I can’t speak for them but my guess is they are hiding from that same hatred that used to hang black people on nooses and burn crosses outside their windows. Chances are they are hiding from that same ignorance that transformed the Mexican immigrant into a villain and a prejudice that insinuates that every Muslim is a terrorist.

It’s an ignorance that forced a Gay student at Rutgers University to commit suicide and a heartless mentality that made a conservative blogger say he wished that all Gay people committed suicide soon after.

An ignorance that motivated a church to protest at the funerals of Iraq war victims with signs that said ‘Your Son Died Because God Hates Fags’ and an ignorance that made a pastor say ‘Katrina ‘happened because God was angry at America for tolerating gays.

It’s an ignorance that panders to the darker side of our conscience;  an ignorance that tugs at the strings of our prejudices, insecurities and misunderstandings.

Indeed, we the ‘Straight’ society are a contradiction, we are quick to profess our belief in individual freedoms and civil liberties but yet we deny them those same inalienable rights because we do not like who and what we think they are. And so, ridiculed by the Christian that uses God’s words to mask their prejudices; silenced by a Zimbabwean president that offers little room for compromise; or demonized by the spiteful and venomous rhetoric of self-righteous gay bashing crusaders, they hide from us.

Denied the dignity of embracing and fully expressing who they are, they cower under the long shadows cast by a hypocritical society, hiding from an ignorant ‘You’ and a turn-a-blind-eye ‘Me’.”

Sincerely,

Kwapi

God created fags so that he could learn to hate?

I blame it all on the absence of a "straight pride" parade. Straight people need a day to celebrate their sexuality too.

NaturalOrder

The universe was created with perfect balance and physical order. All in this universe flow in harmony within this balance and order. All of nature and wild life forms are submissive to the rules of natural evolution. The only creature who does not live by these rules is man. Mankind perverts, pollutes, kills, sickens, and destroys everything else in this world. So when it comes to gay life style, a simple question needs to be asked, does it conform to the natural order of the universe, or does in pervert that order. Is mankind better off conforming to it, or without it ?

But that leads why to ask the question, who is to judgment on what is "natural" and what isn't? Are you the authority on it? Whether or not being gay is a choice or natural; who are you or me to deny something right to be what they want to be?

No one is judging, it's just a simple question that needs to be asked..

'Is mankind better off conforming to it, or without it' ?

All things in nature and the universe follow the laws of perfect balance, physical order and harmony. Why shouldn't mankind be judged by these same rules ?

Then we are forced to apply those very same rules to every act, behaviour and cultural practice. Why shouldnt I beat people I dont like? Steal things? Both of those can be considered entirely natural.

"forced a Gay student at Rutgers University to commit suicide"

Nobody forced him, he made a conscious choice,  he may well have been under extreme stress at the time but he was not forced.

arguably one of the most perverted and absurd statements

In what way was it "perverted"? Please explain how either of those acts could be considered perverse.

I'd like you to explain the absurd part too. The thing you dont seem to grasp is that I wasnt in favour of doing either of those things. But they can both be considered natural even if it does inconvenience your view of the world.

there are no "laws of perfect balance".also, same-sex relations are observable throughout the animal kingdom.please learn.

As are theft, violence, eating of ones young. Are all these things acceptable too? Did I ever claim same-sex relations among animals did not occur?

CosmicOrder

The physical universe that we're aware of has a balance and perfect relationship between all things in it. These properties and there relationship create the evolution, aging and dying of all physical things in it.

Adapting to surroundings on earth and following the laws of nature that have evolved, has been different for each living thing on earth ( plant and animal ). All living things on earth have evolved following the laws on nature. All that is until mankind evolved into 'modern man'.

As we see from the current state of our earth and the living things still left on it. Running against the physical laws of the universe, and of nature on earth, leads to population explosion, living creatures and plant extinction, and self destruction of the earth.

The only question that that needs to be answered of "homophobia" is whether it good for mankind in the context of our species natural evolution. It doesn't need to be judgemental, moral, or religious question. Is this a natural evolution of mankind; mankind adapting to the physical properties of this perfect physical balance in the universe and the laws of natural evolution on earth; or a perversion ?
