Hospitalized Patrick Swayze stays strong

Last Friday came with a sudden and alarming news when A&E president Abbe Raven revealed that Patrick Swayze had to be admitted into hospital with pneumonia.This wasn't a good sign for the actor's health who is battling with pancreatic cancer since 2007, but accordingly to his mother says he's "doing fine" and doesn't give up. "He sounds really upbeat and positive."

"We don't talk about illness when I talk to him," Patsy Swayze said. "He hasn't even been there a week!"

While making public his struggle with cancer, from the beginning he maintained an optimistic attitude and spoke openly about the time he got left admitting he has more than a year in front of him. In one of his ABC appearances he claimed "I'd say five years is pretty wishful thinking. Two years seems likely if you're going to believe statistics."

"I want to last until they find a cure, which means I'd better get a fire under it." ended The Beast actor optimistically.
