Hot for Teachers’ Megan Fox Video: No to $2.5B in Education Cuts
A new FunnyorDie.com video titled Hot for Teachers starring Megan Fox and her boyfriend, Brian Austin Green, is taking a stand against $2.5 billion in proposed California school budget cuts.
The video, which already has more than 33,000 views, came about when the PTA president of Wonderland Avenue Elementary came up with the idea. A parent asked for help from Green, whose 8-year-old son attends class at the Laurel Canyon school.
Funny or Die filmed the video to support the school’s Say No to Cuts petition, which will be sent to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on April 21.
Funny or Die Video Highlights Cut Consequences
The 4-minute video exaggerates the reality of overcrowded classrooms and short-staffed faculties.
It’s meant to be funny, but the question is, when is enough enough?” said John Koch, an entertainment public relations expert whose daughter goes to Wonderland. “How far are these cuts going to go? It’s a tough situation for a lot of people.
While Green attends a heated PTA meeting, Fox finds refuge from autograph-seeking Transformers fans in a classroom with too many kids.
The children explain that their classes were combined when a teacher, a teacher’s assistant, the school nurse and the janitorial staff were let go.
Hot for Teachers Mocks Governor Schwarzenegger
The class fills up with more kids as Jack Slater, a fictional member of the governor’s office played by Geoff Stults, brings more kids from other classes.
Slater, the name of Schwarzenegger’s character from Last Action Hero, talks of the governor’s rough childhood in Austria to show that Californian kids have it easy.
Back in the early ‘90s, Governor Schwarzenegger cut a microchip out of the back of his own head with no anaesthesia,” said Slater. Green corrects him, attributing that scene to The Terminator.
The video ends with Fox and Green urging viewers to the sign the petition and restore the budget for education.
