The Oscars has made an effort for the past two years to incorporate some green measures into their show and they have never been shy of displaying this information on their website - however this year that section has disappeared, leaving some questions in its wake.

The green themes of 2007 and 2008 have gone it seems as the list of eco-efforts have gone from their site and they no longer have a partnership with the Natural Resources Defense Council. There doesn't appear even to be an effort to cut down on the carbon footprint of the luxury giftbags.

One small glimmer of hope remains, however, that the Academy Awards has moved beyond publicizing its green and instead is just incorporating it as business as usual.

The only green event happening around the Oscars seems to be the 6th Annual Global Green Pre-Oscar Party happening tonight in Hollywood drawing a crowd that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Penelope Cruz, Marisa Tomei, Kate Bosworth and others. Sheryl Crow and Gavin Rossdale are among those performing at the event.
This year the benefit will be in aid of 'green schools', which will help to cultivate green jobs for the future.
Last year the event raised $420,000.
