This summer due to the economy there will be more homeless people than ever. Due to all the foreclosures; due to higher gas prices and due to much more spousal abuse there will be more families hitting the streets to live than ever. The face of the homeless is changing from the addictive man to the broken family unit - going from the unshaven wino to the single desperate mom trying to keep her children safe until she can figure it out.
These children's only hope and future depends on them staying in scool and getting an education. So this summer how can you help the rising number of homeless children?
Childrens Restoration Network is sponsoring a huge drive to help 5000 homelss children in Atlanta. Not only do they hope to provide the necessary back packs and school supplies but they will also provide free medical treatment; necessary vaccinations and free haircuts.
So how can you help:
Go to a local Kroger grocery store and donate last years book bag in the collection bins
Go to the same local Kroger and buy school supplies and leave in the collection bins
Get all your friends involved and collect their used book bags
Go to Kroger and buy Mission Grounds Gourmet Coffee - all profits are going to be used to purchase school supplies
Show up on Aug. 10th at the distribution day/BBQ and Help Hand Out Book Bags and School Supplies. – we can use many volunteers hand out all the back packs and school supplies. Plus just having someone show interests in these children will help them alot.
Sign Up to volunteer at the CRN web site: Children's Restoration Network or go to Mission Grounds Gourmet website and sign up to help.
Either way any school supplies you donate will be greatly appreciated

Are you going to be able to cover the event on August 10 for us? I think this is a great idea!
