Florida Department of Environmental Protection has launched an interactive web-based map which enables citizens to find out where to recycle electronics. With the digital conversion just months away, many unwanted analog televisions will need to be recycled as new digital televisions are purchased. The website also links to a frequently asked questions page that explains what the television broadcast signal conversion is, how to tell whether your television is “digital-ready” and how to get a $40 coupon towards the purchase of a digital-to-analog converter box.

 Earth 911 is another site that delivers actionable local information on recycling and product stewardship that empowers consumers to act locally, live responsibly and contribute to sustainability. Both the Earth911.com site and 1-800-CLEANUP toll-free hotline are provided at no cost to the user or taxpayer. Earth 911 centralizes information and resources into a single user-friendly, neutral and non-governmental network.
