Huckabee Questions Mormon Beliefs on Jesus and Devil
AP: GOP Hopeful Mike Huckabee Asks if Mormons Believe Jesus, Devil Are Brothers
While treading lightly on the subject of Mitt Romney’s Mormonism so far, it seems Mike Huckabee recently dropped a bombshell question in a New York Times article to be published Sunday.
However, I believe the question to be an almost rhetorical one. Mormonism really is a different apple than true Christianity…and even more accurately, different than having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
This from the AP story:
WASHINGTON — Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, asks in an upcoming article, “Don’t Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?”
The article, to be published in Sunday’s New York Times Magazine, says Huckabee asked the question after saying he believes Mormonism is a religion but doesn’t know much about it. His rival Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, is a member of the Mormon church, which is known officially as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
UPDATE: FoxNews, Wednesday, Dec. 12
BOSTON — Republican presidential hopeful Gov. Mitt Romney answered rival Mike Huckabee's upcoming published comments about Mormonism, declaring Wednesday that "attacking someone's religion is really going too far."
In an article to be published Sunday in The New York Times, Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, asks, "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?"
Romney, vying to become the first Mormon elected president, declined to answer that question during an interview Wednesday, saying church leaders in Salt Lake City had already addressed the topic.
"But I think attacking someone's religion is really going too far. It's just not the American way, and I think people will reject that," Romney told NBC's "Today" show.
Team Huckabee's response:
Huckabee's campaign released a statement claiming his remarks were taken out of context:
"In fact, the full context of the exchange makes it clear that Governor Huckabee was illustrating his unwillingness to answer questions about Mormonism and to avoid addressing theological questions during this campaign," the statement said.

TheBigRuski, Good stuff.
I have met many Mormons and found them decent hard working people, though a tad sexually frustrated, as one can imagine Utah has some pretty hot Mormon women down there

With this making news and all the reaction and interest,
it's obvious to me that doctrine does matter. The fact is, despite what others
may want to think, that many do care if their leaders are being led by the same
God/Jesus as they are.
What LDS don't understand is that Christians hold to Jesus
being the unique Son of God. That means for them, they think that He's God the
Son. He's the second person of the *only* God there is. Every other son of God
is not a son with the nature of God. They are creatures with different natures
(e.g., angels and humans). Jesus, for Christians, is exalted above anything
imaginable, since He is literally the Creator of everything outside
Himself--including us and Lucifer (Jn. 1:1-3, 14; Rom. 9:5; and Col. 1:13-18).
LDS devalue Jesus since He didn't create everything. LDS
don't even believe that there is a God for any world who is God by nature. Each
God (since Mormons are polytheists) had to become a god, and is worshipped
exclusively for that world. "Worthy" LDS hope to become gods of their
own worlds to receive exclusive worship from their own spirit kids. But Jesus
taught there is only one true God (Jn. 17:3), and He warned us of false
prophets and false Christs that would come in the last days (Mt. 24:24). http://www.MormonInfo.org

It sounds like you are trying to say that Mormons devalue Jesus because they don't believe that he created everything. From what I know from my Mormon friends, I am sure that Mormons believe that Jesus created the Heavens and the earth under the guidance of God the Father. I do not know if that is on a website or not, that is just what I have heard from friends. By the way, Mormons seem to be very good people.

Excellent read Mormon, thanks for the insight. A Mormon Bishop once told me, Mormons treat everyone as their Mormon brothers and sisters, it is just that the uninitated just have not been initiated yet. Hence, going on mission to convert. Though I amy not agree with everything Mormon, I would like to think of this wise Bishop as my friend.
