HBO made some changes to its programming lineup on December 20, 2011.

The cable channel has cancelled comedies Hung, Bored to Death and How To Make it In America. It renewed the comedy "Enlightened," which was the lowest-rated of the four comedies.

Other new HBO comedies are on the way:  "Girls," "Veep," starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus; "Life's Too Short," with Ricky Gervais; and "Angry Boys." Eastbound and Down is also set to return for a third season.

As for dramas, "Luck" from David Milch and Michael Mann will debut on January 29, 2012. Aaron Sorkin will have a new series called "Newsroom." Returning series include "Game of Thrones," "Treme" and "Boardwalk Empire."
