Huntington Beach Lions Surf City Splash

"To shake off the old restrictions and burdens...", is the said purpose of the annual plunge into cold water by hundreds of brave people. After some introductions by a lady in a lion's suit and a feedbacking radio. (See YouTube Video)

The rush to the 51 degree water started promptly at noon. It was foggy all morning and the sky was all gray when by my estimation a little over a hundred people participated in the plunge.

There was a pancake breakfast earlier at Zack's Restaurant for the participants. A donation of $10 tax deductable donation which included a certificate of achievement for those who participated. All for a good cause by The Lions Surf City Splash which raises money for the Canine Companions for Independence.
