Little girls are suger and spice. Little Boys can be monsters at times and it may take years before parents eventually realise they might be hyperactive and seek help. But what happens to a troublesome little girl who is fidgety and excitable, who stamps her feet and has temper tantrums?
This report came out of the blue for me because it is the first time I have ever seen hyperactivity linked to girls behaviour.

One in ten girls were found to have hyperactivity problems

Hyperactive young girls are more likely to have "serious" problems in adulthood, research suggests.

A study of more than 800 girls up to the age of 21 found hyperactivity was linked to poor job prospects, abusive relationships and teenage pregnancy.

Previous research on the lasting impact of childhood hyperactivity has focused on boys, who are more likely to be diagnosed and treated.

good stuff:

deng, I like this story. It's good stuff. You know there has to be something in the food additives which cause hyperactivity in kids, the same as allergies both unheard of and rare in the 1950s. I would say the environment, but the environment was pretty much the same pollution wise, so I surmise it may be attributed to the food additives from the 1960s onward to today.

Thanks Barry, There was a girl at school who punched me on the nose when I was a kid -10 or ll years old. No additives in those days. I remember it hurt like hell. Maybe that's why this story threw me when I read it...

I don't know about that Deng, little ladies are a strange breed, if she punched you in the nose, it was more because she was attracted to you and nothing more. Boys showing affection would pull on girls pigtails.

My son when playing hockey in a mixed team, had a young girl on his team who would body check him continously to get his attention. And they were all of 10 years old.
