Who Watches the Watchmen___I Do!
Whereas his previous blockbuster, 300, relied heavily on computer-generated set elements, Zack Snyder's current comic-book adaptation is getting the real-world treatment. Production of The Watchmen is hinging on real-life set builds, which brings a soul that CGI is yet to match. I'm sure that fans of the source material are thrilled with the decision; at least one person is:
I don't know about you, but the idea of having these strange (anti)heroes walking around a "real" 1985's New York, Ozymandias's massive Karnak, Mason's garage, Dr. Manhattan's nuclear lab, the Comedian's tacky bachelor's pad, and the Rorschach jail—all full of the retro gadgets, technology and the dirt of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' comicbook masterpiece— has me excited.
