NP Rank:
'Impossible Project' aims to bring back Polaroid film
I admire this so much. This is such a great initiative, kudos to these people!
Polaroid may have stopped production of its analogue instant film last summer, but such is the strength of the product's fan base that some have decided they won't take "no" for an answer. Specifically, a group of aficionados in the Netherlands has bought an old Polaroid factory and plans to bring the technology back into production later this year.

Good luck to them. I have a Polaroid cam that will welcome the continued production of that instant film.

Is that product not highly toxic and why in part it is being fazed out, due to EU environmental laws as well as the fact that their sales have been dropping to no avail.

Hmm yes that is highly likely. Perhaps there is some way to reduce the environmental damage created by Polaroid film...it would be nice to think there was a friendlier way to continue this amazing artistic tradition!

I had a halloween party and we took a polariod of everyone. This way everyone can see the costumes and vote on the best and see who was there earlier.

Jarrett Martineau,
Polaroid film IS still out there, at affordable pricing! I've stocked up on some from www.adessoalbums.com. It's a site that not only sells 600 film but also sells Polaroid cameras and photo albums to put your Polaroid pictures in!
Right now, Adesso is offering a “buy two, get the third FREE” sale on Polaroid 600 film. A friend of mine brought this to my attention and I thought I’d share the news:

Bring Back Polaroid Film!!!! Especially 600!!!!
if they had polaroid cameras and film more readily available, and at a reasonable price, i beleive more people would purchase it. Having that instant photo is great, and digital photography is so different as you have so many pictures, you have to put them on the computer, print them etc and you have to back them up incase your computer crashes etc.
Also, to use polaroid film you can write the name of the place/people straight away, without forgetting, its easy to use for scrapbooking and you can show people straight away!
Also, how are the police etc going to get film as many crime scenes require an accurate picture and polaroid has been the key as you cant tell straight away if digital or normal film has the acurate picture, also passport photos are taken with polaroid, photographers use polaroid for frame their image and to gauge the light etc.
There must be a massive demand still around for polaroid, even if its not to the same degree as prior to digital etc

I can't wait...miss using my polaroid!!
