Shane Watson is not just returning to the Australia's squad but will also be the skipper with Michael Clarke ruled out due to injury. Watson is Australia's 44th Test captain. Australia meanwhile have made 5 changes to their squad with James Pattinson in for Doherty, Mitchell Johnson in for Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell in for Moises Henriques, Matthew Wade in for Brad Haddin and of course Watson playing in place of Clarke.

India is playing Ajinkya Rahane in place of the injured Shikhar Dhawan.

Watson said it was an honour to be appointed to the role; "It's really a dream come true to be asked to captain your country. I've captained some one-day internationals, but to be asked to captain a Test will be the ultimate honour.

"It's obviously very disappointing that Michael hasn't come up, his batting and leadership will certainly be sorely missed, but I'm looking forward to the challenge and responsibility over the next five days."

Standing on the cusp of history, an upbeat India will go for the kill against a beleaguered Australia as they aim for an unprecedented 4-0 clean sweep by inflicting another defeat on the visitors in the fourth and final cricket Test starting in New Delhi on Friday.

The Delhi Test will be 198th in Sachin Tendulkar's illustrious career and as per the ICC itinerary, India don't play any home Test matches in the next 12 months.

So one doesn't know if the legend will be again seen in action in white flannels on home soil.

The bowling attack looks more or less settled with both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and especially Ishant Sharma putting up a much improved performance in the Mohali Test.

Pitch:

The surface is dry and there are quite a few cracks which means spin will be the way captains go in the Test match. It will not be easy for the batsmen though with the abrasive nature.

India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt), Ajinkya Rahane, Murali Vijay, Chesteshwar Pujara, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Bhubneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma.

Australia: Shane Watson (capt), David Warner, Ed Cowan, Phil Hughes, Steven Smith, Matthew Wade, Glenn Maxwell, James Pattinson, Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon.
