India have a few new faces in their team with Parvinder Awana and Bhuvneshwar Kumar coming in. With the injury to Manoj Tiwary, Ambati Rayudu gets a chance to don the India jersey.
In England’s version of the same market, new captain Eoin Morgan is the favourite to top score at best odds of 7/2 with a choice of bookies including Paddy Power and Coral. Morgan is deputising for the injured Stuart Broad but is likely to bat down at number four and doesn’t seem to offer too much value at that price. There is no Kevin Pietersen nor Graeme Swann.
Elsewhere, Luke Wright has been in excellent form for the Melbourne Stars in Australia’s Big Bash and the all-rounder might be a better choice at those same best odds of 7/2 with bet365 and Paddy Power. The Nottinghamshire pair of Alex Hales and Michael Lumb can be found at the same best price of 4/1 withLadbrokes but the best value as far as an Englishman is concerned may just lie in backing Somerset’s Jos Buttler. Admittedly, Buttler could bat as low as number six here but if the top order fail he stands to offer great returns at best odds of 10/1 with Ladbrokes.
The Man of the Match betting sees Kohli installed with the shortest price at best odds of 9/1 with bet365. Gambhir is next at a best price of 10/1 with bet365 while Rahane is on offer at a tempting best price of 12/1 – also with bet365.
The first English name on the list is Hales at best odds of 12/1 with bet365 while Buttler could be a wise pick at an excellent best price of 16/1 with bet365 once again.
There are two names that really stand out however and the first is skipper Dhoni who could take the award with shrewd captaincy and power hitting down the order. MSD can be backed at superb best odds of 14/1 with bet365.
bet365 are also offering that same best price of 14/1 on England’s Luke Wright and there is exceptional value here too as the Sussex man offers a threat with both bat and ball.
As a final bet to consider, bet365 are also offering the best price of 10/1 on any player to pass three figures in this game. No Englishman has scored a T20 hundred to date but there’s plenty of potential in the Indian ranks and that’s a good value price.
Overall, this should be a great contest, played to an exciting atmosphere in Pune. You may not be able to see past an Indian win here but there is some great value in all the markets as the match draws near.
