After a disappointing performance by their pacers on the dusty Chennai pitch, Australia is likely to make some changes in their team combination to accommodate at least one more spinner in the playing XI.
In view of the similar nature of the Hyderabad pitch to the MA Chidambaram Stadium's, Xavier Doherty might get berth in the playing XI here. However, Clarke will have to rest one of his paceman in place of Doherty.
Australia decided to stick to their strength and played four pacers at Chennai. Only James Pattinson could claim six wickets remaining pacers remained off colour in the match. Nathan Lyon, the only specialised spinner in the team scalped four wickets but at a cost of over 200 runs.
On the other hand, high on their confidence after a comprehensive win at Chennai, the hosts will look forward to clinch the match and be on a safer side by attaining 2-0 lead in the four-match series.
Indian skipper MS Dhoni might look at other options like Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan amid inconsistence top-order and Virender Sehwag's poor performance. Murali Vijay, who opened with Sehwag in Chennai also failed to impress in both innings.
Following a brilliant performance from R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, MSD can look at bringing in Pragyan Ojha in place of Harbhajan Singh. Coming back to the international cricket after a long time, Harbhajan Singh failed to impress at Chennai. Bhajji claimed three wickets whereas, Jadeja and Ashwin took five and 12 wickets respectively.
