This seems to be the worst phase for Indian cricket in years. Never in the last decade Indian bowling looked so toothless and impotent that teams after teams were beating it in almost all formats of the game with so much ease. Indian bowling was a weak point for the Indian cricket team all these years, but never in the last decade India had so much dearth of a good bowler in the Indian side. Neither the team has a dependable pacer, nor a spinner who is able to take a couple of wickets when the situation demands, while other bowlers too contribute handsomely.

This must be very disappointing for the team, fans and the captain who cannot understand as to why the team is not working as a unit. The same English team that was hammered by two local teams in India were able to completely dominate the game in the first one day international that they won rather easily. In contrast Indian side proved toothless with the ball and its batting too crumbled, as it has happened repeatedly against England in test series and the against Pakistan in the just concluded one day series
Indian fans are aghast and just pray that their team doesn’t suffer the same fate of the first ODI and loses the match once again. Indian fans are also very disappointed with rather poor show by the Indian batsmen who flounder when a responsible inning is expected from them. Indian opener Gautam Gambhir rightly says about the predicament of the Indian side. “Whenever the batsmen don’t do well, bowlers cover up for them and vice-versa. I don’t believe in blaming one area of the game. I think the bowlers are putting in all the hard work, and the way they won the match for us against Pakistan (in Delhi) was commendable”, says the gifted batsman who is also struggling with his form.
