Indonesian prepares E-Book for School

The government is launching the electronic school book that can be downloaded by student for free due to realize the nine years learning program. The student of elementary and junior high school can study by using projector just like university student. The government is preparing 200 books from Dept. of National Education on next August.

The department must spent plenty of budged to pay those 200 books copyright which already suitable with the national standardization. Each student ad parent can download the book at http://bse.depdiknas.go.id/, so they could not buy the book with expensive price at bookstore.

“The student and parent just only download the book without paying anything,” said Sukesti Martono, Jakarta Head of Dept. of Primary Education, Monday (14/7). According to him, the nine years learning program in Jakarta is free, so there is no reason for school to ask money including for book and uniform.

Martono explained book logistic for 2008 must be prepared by all schools and the fund can be taken from BOP except Math, Indonesian, and English book from BOS. “That is why the government prepares those books,” he added.

There are two facilities on electronic school book, download and read online. Teacher, student, local government, or entrepreneurs are able to copy, print, and even sell it. Under the teacher supervision, the student is able to discuss and learn it deeply.
