Iron Maiden singer chastises pot smoker at concert

I might just be easily amused, but I thought this was funny. I'm surprised Dickinson takes such a hard line, actually. Wouldn't smoking improve the wailing-demon quality of his voice?

While it's easy for some of us to get metalheads mixed up with potheads, it's best to get your facts or assumptions straight when it comes to Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson. Last week during a gig at San Antonio's Verizon Wireless on the Somewhere Back In Time - World Tour 08, the pint-sized, airplane pilot/lead singer showed his disgust for a fan lighting up a fat one in the crowd.

"Would you please put that fucking shit out? My lungs are trying to work up here, dude," Dickinson, a known anti-drug campaigner, yelled at the smoker.

Any pot smokers in Canada looking to get ridiculed by the front-man can do so when the band touch down in Vancouver for a string of Canadian dates in June that include:

6/3 Vancouver BC, Pacific Coliseum
6/5 Calgary AB, Saddledome
6/6 Edmonton AB, Rexall Place
6/8 Regina SK, Brandt Centre
6/9 Winnipeg MB, MTS Centre
6/21 Montreal QC, Parc Jean-Drapeau

My photos were taken from Iron Maiden's amazing performance at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, on Wednesday 6th February.

Ask any singer, cigarette and pot smoke really does make it hard to sing properly.  Musicians and bar staff have been reaping the benefits of Australia's recent ban on smoking inside licenced venues.  Good on ya Bruce for taking a stand, we all want you to put on the best show you can.
