In just 10 days, The Dark Knight has made $314,245,000 dollars. Iron Man, which is currently the highest grossing movie of 2008 has made $314,905,000 dollars. It's a difference of $660,000 dollars. By Monday, The Dark Knight will surpass Iron Man. This wouldn't be the first time a Batman movie has dominated the box office. 1989's Batman starring Michael Keaton was the highest grossing movie of that year with $250 million which adjusted for inflation is $433 million. Batman Returns (1992) and Batman Forever (1995) did not become #1, but were the most successful movies of their summer season.
