ISI to participate in world drum festival in Malaysia

Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - Denpasar-based Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) will take part in a world drum festival in Malaysia, from July 23, 2008, for a week.

"The international event will involve arts troupes from a number of countries," ISI Rector Prof. Dr. I Wayan Rai S said here on Thursday.

The institute would send a 20-member team consisting of lecturers and students to Malaysia, he said.

Before leaving for Malaysia, ISI would also participate in an International Ramayana Festival to be held in India, from June 3 to 11, 2008, he said.

ISI would also send a 20-member arts troupe to India at the invitation of the Indian External Affairs Ministry`s Council for Cultural Relations, he said. (*) end
