Hitler Finds Out About iSnack 2_0

iSnack 2.0?! Are you effing kidding me?! Vegemite spent all this time and money in releasing and testing its newest product, which is Vegemite mixed with cream cheese), and sought the Australian public's input on what to name this tasty, tasty concoction. The winner: iSnack 2.0. I sh&t you not, this is the best that Kraft could come up with.

The then-unnamed Vegemite product launched in July, and has sold nearly 3 million jars, which is pretty good, considering the population of Australia. The runners- up also sucked; I guess "Creamy Vegemite" wasn't an option.

Simon Talbot from Kraft Foods said: "The name Vegemite iSnack2.0 was chosen based on its personal call to action, relevance to snacking and clear identification of a new and different Vegemite to the original. We believe these three components completely encapsulate the new brand."

Relevance to snacking?! Dude, you're f&cking fired. Seriously. Clear out your desk and get the hell out of the marketing industry just as fast as you can, so that Zimbu the Monkey can take over your job and get settled in. Just go.

A joke name based on a fad that’s embarrassing even to a web professional is somehow descriptive of a sour tasting paste mixed with cream cheese, directs me to eat it and differentiates it … em … from the sour tasting paste by itself. Amazing.

Relevance to Snacking?! The only things that are relevant to snacking are crackers and being hungry. That's it. Period. Again, Simon, dude, you're done. And Dean Robbins, who came up with "iSnack 2.0", should be taken out into the street and pilloried for even thinking about submitting such a trite, cliched and played-out name. I'm so angry I lost my appetite.

What a stupid name.  It is not a bit catchy and certainly would not draw me to buy it.   This product needs a quirky name.   The new name at present goes right over the heads of millions of people.    Get rid of it.
