Israel lifts 43-year ban on Beatles

At last, the Beatles are kosher.

After forbidding the music of the Beatles for 43 years, Israel has announced a lift on the ban by inviting the two remaining members for a visit to the holy land. The Middle Eastern nation originally outlawed the Fab Four from performing during their run in the ’60s after concerns over whether their music would corrupt the country’s youth.

Recently the Israeli ambassador in London, Ron Prosor, asked Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to visit the country this May in coordination with its 60th anniversary celebrations.

Israel's ambassador to London, Ron Prosor, is expected to give a letter of apology to John Lennon's sister Julia Baird at the Beatles Story museum in Liverpool.

Thank you for inviting us here in NowPublic. I have other collection of Philippine Beatles Memorabilia. Filipinos love the BEATLES even up to now. There are local bans here in our country that are very much into Beatles Music. They are a great inspiration and they have influence our modern music so much, you could still feel their waves in contemporary Pinoy songs. We have adopted the Beatle so much because this ban is very historic here in the Philippines. Their famous visit here in our country in the very political time of the Marcos’es marked the music era called Pinoy rock. Just sharing…. Eireen

The Beatles as youth-corruptors? That's so cute! I wonder if Ozzfest has arrived in Tel Aviv...
