Rio beats out Chicago for 2016 Olympics

Chicago Eliminated From 2016 Olympics - First Round

The international "I/Me" tour fails to secure Olympic bid for the city of Chicago. What a mess of prioritization this young President has shown, especially if the "FIX" was not in!

"We're number one! We're number one! We're number one!" OOOPS!, we're knocked out in the number one round! Where is American exceptionalism now?

Tokyo knocked out in the second round, this was the city where the Mayor stated that the 2016 Olympics may well be the last Olympics held because of "Global Warming"!

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Madrid, Spain are in the final round with the inside nod going to the South American nation.

MSNBC's Alex Witt muses, "What went wrong?", news anchor admits to be "profoundly disappointed", wow - Oprah Winfree, Michele Obama, and even the President, Barack Obama, himself could not deliver the bid ... "Was it overkill, ... was it, in fact, too American?"

The faces in the crowd at Daley Plaza are priceless-ly despondent. A fitting tribute to the failures of this young President, Barack Obama. Raindrops ("fittingly") are now beginning to drop from the sky onto Daley Plaza in Chicago, and as MSNBC's Lester Holt goes on to say "Chicago is a city that is extremely proud and this event of being outdone through insider politics, will hurt."

God, I love MSNBC tragedy TV!

Amid the official pomp and circumstance, the International Olympic Committee awards the 2016 Olympic Games in an envelop moment ...

It's Official - Sim nós podemos (yes we can) - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is awarded 2016 Olympic bid!

Carnival in October, let the games begin!

Rio sounded like the best idea from the get-go.

Chicago is too hot and humid. Yes, despite the bad news from the city, Midwesterners are very decent people.

Rio would  be having the Summer Olympics during their winter. Good temperatures, and, gee, yes, some of the best and most exotic beauties in the street people department.  Not that I notice that particularly. :)

This is amazing.

They were so sure they would make it past the first round. Way too cocky and seems to be part of what the overestimation of the whole Obama phenomenon is about for Chicago and the US.

Ed you have to stop uploading copyrighted videos to your story - there's a reason we are taking them down. The Olympics has some of the strictest copyright laws that exist today. If you upload anymore that are copyrighted I'm afraid we'll have to remove your story from the front page.

Thanks.

Hey!  Michelle telling them it was a    SACRIFICE     for her to come?  What with 20 something assistants, a designer wardrobe , topnotch airforce one...ahhh..the poor woman is so ridiculous I could throw up.  She is as narcissistic now as O.  She's pushin for her real estate friend in Chicago!  I am embarrassed for the snobby black elitist's that thought their "pop

star status would impress the leaders of the world.  Then to play the card of my Dad's illness?Does she think that no one else in the world has delt with family illness?

Obama needed his Mommy to come with him.  He is getting scared maybe realizing he is losing his glitz.  Mommy is a "dragon lady" trying to keep her mouth shut but everytime she does she reveals sooooooooooooooo much that she is a putz.

Gov of Tokyo Shintaro should resign. He wasted so much money including buying bankrupt bank with ¥400 billion debts

Good story, Ed! Your summary of today's events (so far) saves me from watching TV news...I like also that you put some Portuguese in the title...I think we'll be seeing more of that in the future!
