My name is Michael Barriball and I am the webmaster of Save Our Shows.  I have been campaigning to save the Fox show Point Pleasant since April 2005 and I joined S.O.S in July 22nd 2007.  Philip Matuskiewicz, who at that time owned S.O.S was so impressed with my commitment to Point Pleasant he offered me a partnership on the spot and soon after promoted me to moderator, when he went to college he asked me to take on the site and develop it.  I agreed and took on Julius Toth as my partner-in-crime and together we're working on a campaign to save many shows cancelled by several T.V. networks. At present our campaign includes two shows cancelled by the C.B.S. network, MOONLIGHT and JERICHO as well as two cancelled by Disney, AMERICAN DRAGON JAKE LONG and KIM POSSIBLE.  And also 12 shows cancelled by 20th Century Fox; WONDERFALLS, JOHN DOE, NORTH SHORE, FASTLANE, REUNION, THE INSIDE, KILLER INSTINCT, FIREFLY, TRU CALLING, DRIVE, POINT PLEASANT and FUTURAMA.  But why were these shows cancelled? The reason is the A.C. Nielsen Rating system, this system is used only in America and Canada.  Only a select few are chosen to be part of this group and it's what they watch that determines which shows stay on the air and which ones are axed, there's just one problem with the system, it doesn't work and never did. The Fox network would argue that they cancelled their shows because of poor ratings but Point Pleasant fans know that their show was axed to give more air time to American Idol.  And rumour has it that Futurama was cancelled because a Fox exec thought it wasn't like the Simpsons.  Uh... reality check, meatbag, it isn't trying to be anything like the Simpsons.  It's FUTURAMA, you assinine moron.  As for Drive and Wonderfalls, Fox cancelled them after just three episodes, was it because of poor ratings? after three weeks? are you guys serious? how the hell does that work??? What the T.V. network bosses conveniently forget is that they distribute their shows to T.V. networks in over a hundred different countries, from Argentina to Japan and because the Neilsen system is only used in America they are not counted when they work out the ratings so if you are a fan of Point Pleasant and you live in England or Italy then forget it, you may as well not exist.  To sum up, the Neilsen rating system is a complete rip-off. So, is there anything we as fans of these or any other shows can do about it?  Actually, yes there is, we could become members of Save Our Shows and form lobby groups so that we can all work together to fight for our shows.  Save Our Shows has all the resources and support you need to launch a campaign for your show.  From the home page, clicking on the LETTERS icon takes you to a page of pre-written letters for your show which you can print out and post, but post them where? Clicking on CONTACTS takes you to a list of addresses of newspapers such as the Seattle Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Miami Herald and the New York Times as well as T.V. networks from WTAE-TV Channel 4 to 20th Century Fox and Disney.  There are also Fax and Phone numbers and E-mail addresses.  If we all send them our letters as often as we can we will force them to listen to us, we can, and will, save our shows.  Here's the address;                         http://www.saveourshows.org.

Winning our campaigns will not only get our shows back, we can also force the T.V. networks to scrap the Neilsen rating system and replace it with a system that more fairly represents the T.V. viewers of the whole world, not just America.  And for fans of Disney shows we also pledge to force Disney to scrap the 65 episode rule.  We will give you everything you need to get your show back on the air, the rest is up to you.  So come and join us, it's time to reclaim our entertainment

It's a site for you to communicate and to lobby and a prime example is Futurama. Saved by the fans after 6 years of being off the air. So nothing is impossible if your willing to fight for it. So feel free to check out
