J-Lo does triathlon to raise money for children hospital after leaving Project Runway
Lopez, 39, competed in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon Sunday just seven months after giving birth to twins Max and Emme, raising $127,000 for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
"This is an amazing day," she told reporters. "I feel really great and so glad I finished and that I made it out of the water but, more amazing than that, I feel really great that we raised $127,000 for the Children's Hospital."
Lopez was cheered on from the sidelines by husband Marc Anthony, who escorted her to a VIP area with his arm securely around her after she crossed the finish line, exhausted, but with her fists pumped in victory.
The event raised $950,000 for LA children's hospital.
A couple of days before triathlon, J-Lo pulled out from judging Project Runway. There are rumours circulating that Lopez had conflicts with the makers of the show. Her official reason for bowing out was “foot injury” that Lopez said she needed to rehab in time for triathlon competition. Don’t get me wrong, but I doubt Jennifer Lopez would ditch an opportunity to make appearance in a prime-time show in order to compete in a one day local fundraising event. I wish she would have chosen a reason other than fundraising for sick children to conceal her grudge against project Runway producers.
